FD Docket Hudson County Judge Claude Coleman
One of the most active dockets in New Jersey is the Hudson County FD Docket, "Non-Dissolution"family law cases. These cases involve parenting time, child support, custody, paternity, and so forth usually for people that are not married. The newest addition to the court is Judge Claude Coleman and I must say its a welcome addition. Judge Coleman understands the issues in an FD docket especially when the issues are presented by an attorney. Judge Coleman was a police officer in Newark in the 60s and 70s and was a Judge in Essex County first. A police officer in Newark at that time has seen it all. This is important because some judges trivialize people in the FD docket because of their income status or for whatever reason. Judge Coleman is also a person that was arrested in Short Hills in the 1990s for essentially being black in an upscale area. His arrest was thrown out and many many apologies ensued but again, he knows what many people go through and we are glad to have him in Hudson County. Chambers as many in the family part are, are located at 595 Newark Avenue, Jersey City, NJ, Second Floor. Recently, we were before the Judge for additional parenting time for a father, something that is rarely granted but we succeeded. While many still believe that a child should be with a mother for the majority of time we do not and the Judge agreed that more parenting time with a three year old child was warranted. Our client had overnights 4 nights per month. After our hearing he was awarded 15 nights per month. If you face a family law issue in Hudson or Essex County, contact us today.
